Plenty of Blue Fish Everywhere.

The water temp is dropping but fishing has not slowed down just yet. Surf fishing is still just as good as a week ago. There are plenty of Blue Fish everywhere from the North End to the South End of the Island. The size is not the biggest but some have been weighed in up to four pounds. Pompano are still around. In fact, we weighed in one caught by George Kluttz at four and three-quarter pounds. There are also plenty of Flounder in the surf. They’re of legal size but not much bigger. Up at the Carolina Beach Inlet, Puppy Drum are still running and there were several Speckled Trout caught. Spots are feeding in the surf and around the piers and from what I can see, they are getting bigger by the day. Of course, an east wind is the best. The river is still a good bet for Virginia Mullet and Grey Trout; mainly from the ferry-landing south. Offshore, the inshore reefs are giving up some Trout around the ten-mile mark. You will find some nice King Mackerel in decent size schools and even a little further out you can find some great bottom Grouper and Snapper. It’s not over till it’s over! Keep fishin and releasin… Steve and Karen Labanec Seagull Bait and Tackle
