Many Bill Fish Being Raised

As the weather remains warm or hot, so does the fishing. Offshore, Grouper fishing could not have been better this past weekend. It was ideal conditions and the fish were cooperating nicely. We also heard of many Bill Fish being raised. Closer to hill, Grey Trout fishing has been a little slow, but the inshore reefs are producing Flounder and some Black Bass. Both piers have been enjoying some great Spot runs at night and a few during the day. In between the Spot runs there are plenty of Blue Fish and some Flounder. The North Pier has had several runs of Puppy Drum; most were keepers. Virginia Mullet have not been slack either. I?m sure you have all heard about those artificial worms called Fish Bites, well, some info for you skeptics – it works better than you could imagine. Surf fishing has also been really good with plenty of Whiting and Blue Fish being caught during the day and Spots at night. Pompano are big on the North End and several were weighed in at four pounds. Flounder are also still around in the surf. I have not forgotten the river. That?s where the Grey Trout are running. Down by Bald Head Island along with Spots and lots of Whiting. Wow. What a fall run of fish. It?s been great and as along as this weather holds, the fish will keep biting! Keep fishin and releasin… Steve and Karen Labanec Seagull Bait and Tackle
