75# Black Drum Caught from Pfizer Dock

One thing is for sure, we are into the summer dull drums. But there are still a few fish around. Flounder fishing seems to be hit or miss right now. You just have to wait it out to find a good hole and fish it hard. A typical hot water fish that is caught at this time of the year is Black Drum and we have seen one of these giants caught from the Pfizer Dock. It was seventy-five pounds. Surf fishing is still pretty good especially at night with lots of Whiting, Spots, Croakers, and Puppy Drum. Some real big sharks have moved in the wash of the waves at night, so no night swimming! Both piers are still catching Flounder and the North Pier has seen some more big ones to match the nine and six pound catches last week. Spanish Mackerel are still running during the day. Offshore, King Mackerel are still running starting at five miles out. The small side are plentiful, but by far bottom fishing is real hot and Hot Ticket Charters got this Big Red Drum on a recent trip.
