The Virginia mullet run has started. The best time to catch them is the last 2 hours of the falling tide at the mouth of the Cape Fear. Check your bait frequently because the fish range from very small to about 1 ½ pounds & the smaller ones will take the bait quickly.
In the waterways, river, & bays catching some red drum, & an occasional speckled trout.
Up around Wilmington catching some striped bass, red drum, & catfish.
Some nice catches of red drum in the surf on Masonboro Island. Keep fishing & stay safe.
