Plenty Of Flounder Around Snow’s Cut

This is it. The big surf fishing tournament weekend you all have been waiting for. The tournament will begin on Friday October 7th and run through Sunday with an awards ceremony. Great news for those that want to fish but can’t afford the North End (Freeman Park) fee. Your wristband for the tournament will serve as your ticket to the park. The Carolina Beach Town Council has been nice enough to allow free access to those fishing in the tournament from Friday through Sunday. It’s been blowing east-northeast for several days now and fishing s really picking up. Both piers are loading up with Spots. No real big ones, but I did have a man and his wife come in with forty pounds of Spots. Both piers are also reporting catches of Blue Fish and Croakers. The surf is also real hot lately. Blue Fish are everywhere ranging from one to three pounds. Red Drum should be biting but everyone seems to be keeping his or her favorite fishing spots a secret. We have seen many twenty-seven inch catches between seven and nine pounds. There are still plenty of Flounder in Snow’s Cut averaging in the three to nine pound range. This east wind should drive the fish right to the beach making for a great tournament. You have until Friday to join and the north end is free with your entry. What a combo! Keep fishin and releasin… Steve and Karen Labanec Seagull Bait and Tackle
