Spanish Mackerel Have Showed Up On High Rock & Sheepshead Rock

It has been a good week for fishing. In fact, I have so many pictures some of you may not make it until next week! We have seen it all from Wahoo to Whiting and everything in between. Let’s start offshore. the Charter Boats are catching lots of small Dolphin and some nice Wahoo. I hear bottom fishing has also been excellent. In fact, we weighed in a seven and a half pound Vermillion Snapper. That’s big. Closer to shore, some Spanish Mackerel have showed up on High Rock and Sheepshead Rock. The piers have started catching a few Spanish Mackerel and a lot of Blue Fish on Got-Cha-Plugs. Both piers are picking up with lots of pan fish, Black Drum, small Blue Fish and Whiting. As for the surf fishing, well, it’s hot with big Blue Fish up to ten pounds and Red Drum in all sizes. Of course the big ones are primarily caught at night. Whiting and Pompano have also hit the beach in better numbers. Flounder are slow but that did not stop Bruce Fields from Winning the Fisherman’s Post inshore Tournament with a six and a half pound flatty! Fishing is good and getting better everyday. Get out there and fish! Keep fishin and releasin… Steve and Karen Labanec Seagull Bait and Tackle 910-458-7135
