Flounder Are On The Move

Flounder are on the move. We have been seeing a lot of small fish coming from the surf, inlet, and of course, Snow’s Cut. The largest Flounder caught this week comes from Ted Connors at 6.2 pounds. Maybe you do not like Flounder fishing. Well then the surf is the place for you. The surf is giving up some big Pompano up to three pounds and Black Drum are not scarce either. They are running from two to seven pounds. There are also plenty of Blue Fish ranging from one pound to eleven pounds. Surf fishing is great right now and is only going to get better. Pier fishermen have nothing to complain about. They are catching lots of Blue Fish and Spanish Mackerel on Got-Cha-Plugs. They are also catching Black Drum and Whiting on bait. I have also heard of some Cobia showing up on the piers and of course that’s only going to get better! Offshore, Dolphin are the feed. Large Time Charters had some large catches of Dolphin. A little closer to the beach, Spanish Mackerel are thick. I know it’s been a slow start to a season, but if this is any sign of what is to come, well, you better get ready quick because it’s going to be a good year!
