Let’s Go Fishing!

Will someone please, please turn off the wind machine! Even with the wind machine running we are still hearing of some decent fishing from surf and pier. The surf is producing Blue fish in the one to two-pound range and some Puppy Drum that are legal at best. I would love to tell you more but except for Whiting, that?s about all that?s in the surf right now. This wicked wind is driving down water temperatures and holding off the spring bait run. That will change soon I hope. Both piers are catching Blue fish just a little bigger than in the surf. Some up to three pounds mainly on Got-Cha Plugs. They are also catching Whiting and lots of sharks. In the inlet, I have heard of a few Flounder as well as in the waterway. They are fat but scattered and small. That?s a good sign that at least they are here! Down the river some Whiting are around the mouth of the river. They are not real big and last week was a blow out. Maybe the water temperature has finally broke the sixty-degree mark. We will let you know next week what?s going on in the river. I do not believe many charter boats made it out last weekend but those who were able to make offshore have had some real nice bottom catches of Snapper and Grouper. Tuna and Wahoo are still out there but the wind is so hit and miss so pick your day and best of luck! It?s coming soon, so keep and open eye! Let’s get fishing!
