A few panfish are starting to show up around the Southport area such as black bass, a few pigfish & a few Virginia mullet. Catching some red drum & speckled trout around the Southport Bald Head area, on Masonboro Island & in the waterways & bays. In the river toward Wilmington catching a few small red drum, some reports of striped bass, & a few catfish. The weather looks like it is starting to get better which means the water temperature will be rising. This should improve the bite. Hopefully the speckled trout ban will be lifted soon since the water is not so cold. Keep fishing & stay safe.
