On the piers the spots have started running & having good catches, also some nice size red drum, bluefish, still a few flounder, small croaker, speckled trout, stingrays, & sharks.
In the surf small & large red drum, spots, croaker, blowfish, flounder, speckled trout, bluefish, stingrays, & sharks.
Inshore due to all the heavy rain this past week the Cape Fear River has a lot of fresh water coming down. This has slowed the bite up dramatically unless you fish toward the Bald Head area. Still catching a few speckled trout, red drum, bluefish, stingrays, & sharks. It will take at least 2 weeks for the river to get good & salty again so fish in the ocean or more toward the ocean to get away from the fresh water & have a better catch.
