Small speckled trout are being caught in the Carolina Beach yacht basin. In the Cape Fear River up around Wilmington some stripped bass, a few red drum, & in the Brunswick River some nice size speckled trout. As of January 12 a new proclamation was issued making it illegal to keep any speckled trout due to the cold water. You can find more information at the ncdmf website.
