Affordable Charters Fishing Report 01-01-11

This past week even though we had some warmer temperatures was not as promising as we had hoped. The water temperature in the ocean is 45 to 46 degrees. Some of the back waters is 43 to 44 degrees which makes fishing very slow. However there have been a few Virginia mullet, black bass, & speckled trout caught. There have been a few good catches of speckled trout in the Carolina Beach yacht basin. Up towards Wilmington there have been some striped bass caught. Those of you that are boat owners be sure to start your boat motor & let it run with fuel treatment. This will stop damage from the ethanol that is now in the fuel from eating up fuel hoses, etc. You should start your motor at least every other month & let it run. It will save a lot of expense & headaches when fishing season comes around. Keep fishing & stay safe.
