Inshore fishing has really turned on
Inshore fishing has really turned on this past week. On my recent charters we have had some good catches of speckled trout, red drum, black drum, and virginia mullet. On one trip we had an excellent catch of speckled trout with one that weighed over 4 pounds. There was also a couple of red drum and black drum mixed in. There was also a really big red drum or black drum that took the bait, exploded the water, screamed the drag and broke the leader on the bottom. What a sight! It still bothers me when I think about it.
I have also been seeing some nice schools of redfish 40 to 70 fish on the flats, but they have been reluctant to take the artificials we have been throwing at them. It is still alot of fun to see and try to catch these fish.
We have also been catching some nice black drum 3 to 4 pounders with a few reds mixed in around the docks.
Looks like it is going to be a good spring fishing season. Give me a call if you would like to go.
Thanks,
Jeff
