Pier Fishing Is Still Good

Fishing is still getting better and showing no signs of letting up. Inshore, the river is producing Flounder and Black Drum. The Snow’s Cut area seems to be the best place to catch Flounder. None are real big, but there are a lot of keepers. Near shore, Spanish Mackerel and small King Mackerel are every where and if you can get to the bottom, the Flounder are covering up most of the inshore wrecks and reefs. Offshore, Wahoo and Dolphin are filling the stream and a lot of weed lines in the twenty mile range are holding Dolphin. Pier fishing is still real good. Both piers are enjoying lots of Spanish Mackerel and Blue Fish. The North Pier reported two nice King Mackerel. One near twenty and the other close to forty pounds. The surf is holding lots of Pompano, some up to three pounds, but the majority are one to two pounds. Also, Black Drum and Blue Fish are in the surf as well as Red Drum early in the morning and late in the evening. Some Flounder are also in the surf in the deeper slews and cuts though the size is not too bog they are out there none the less. The fish are out there, grab your tackle box, cooler, and some snacks. Keep fishin and releasin… Steve and Karen Labanec Seagull Bait and Tackle 910-458-7135
