Cool Temps Equals Fall Fishing

Hi Folks,

Yes we had a little rain, oh about two feet, but the fishing is turning on and things are getting back to normal real quick. This week we have caught several reds and flounder with a 6.75 pounder leading the list.

Now here’s my report:

Inshore: As mentioned above, the flounder and reds are biting. I am having good luck on Gulp SW 4? Baitfish fished on a 1/4 oz. jig head. We caught a 6.75 pound flounder on that rig. I am also catching reds on the same rig and also on cut menhaden fished on a carolina rig. Both fish have been doing well on the falling tide.

Near Shore: Blues and spanish are biting trolling rigs and jigging spoons. Big reds are cruising around the beaches too. They are hitting cut and live bait. Going looking for some grays tomorrow.

Offshore: I have heard reports of some nice kings moving in to the 7-10 mile areas.

Gulfstream: No Reports.

River: Due to resent rains the river is a bit high right now but should be getting back down soon. It was good for red, trout and flounder before the rains.

Upcoming: Lots of great fall fishing ahead. The hard trout bite hasn’t even started. It’s time to make plans to get on the water and soon!

Until next time….LET’S GO FISHING!!!
