This week has been a little slow in the surf, but there are still reports of Virginia mullet, bluefish, flounder, black drum and red drum. On the piers there are reports of flounder, Virginia mullet, speckled trout, bluefish, pigfish, black bass, and flounder. Offshore on the bottom they are catching black bass, gag grouper, red grouper, snapper, ringtail and grunt. On the top offshore, they are reporting good catches of king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, mahi mahi and sharks. This week’s fishing tip: The surf fishing has been a little slow due to the ocean being very calm and still. We need some hard northeast winds for a few days to churn up the bottom and get some activity in the surf. Keep fishing and stay safe. Captain John Carty Affordable Charters
