Carolina Beach winter preparation, for those fishermen that have hung it up for this season, be sure to lightly rinse off rods and reels. After they dry, lightly mist reels, especially all pivot points with C.R.C. or WD40. Also rinse off your cast nets and dip nets. Put all your fishing gear in a good dry spot out of the sun. Open all compartments of your boat and tackle box on a nice sunny day so everything can dry out. (All enclosed areas condensate). We have been very fortunate to have had great warm temperatures for the past two months but cold weather is on the way. Our water temperature is going to drop at least 8 to 20 degrees in the next week.

On the surf still a few Virginia mullet, small black drum, puppy drum and speckled trout.

Inshore, still Virginia mullet, croaker, small red and black drum, speckled trout, catfish and some stripped bass.

Offshore, on the bottom, black bass, grouper, ringtails, grunts and gray trout.

Stay warm, be safe, and keep fishing.
