Carolina Beach fall fishing continues in FULL SWING – blast from the past
Carolina Beach fall fishing continues in FULL SWING and we have been very busy.
INSHORE: The red fishing bite continues to be pretty steady. We have been mainly dock fishing in the ICW this week, and the dock fishing is really paying off. We have had many awesome days and it will only get better as the water cools. Find a dock or series of docks that are near a channel and pitch a bait close by and HOLD ON! When fishing the dock we have the drag completely locked down so the redfish can’t wrap us in the docks. This is true one on one fishing and you get to feel every ounce of power the fish has to offer. Falling tide works best. Try the Gulp! Crab or a live mullet on a Carolina rig for best results.
The Spanish mackerel have been right off of the beach and we have had a few great days of sight casting to them, they were small but are lots of fun on light tackle. The gray trout are starting to make a good showing and the speckled trout are biting well near the inlets and inshore creeks.
OFFSHORE: With all of the great inshore fishing I have not been offshore this week. The sharks are thinning out as the water cools and the kings are near the 7 mile and 15 mile wrecks with some large ones close in feeding on the Spanish. We saw about a 40 pound king sky right near the inlet a few days back. The Albacore should show up here any day and we are ready to feed them some Mariah Jigs! Fall fishing is in full swing! Give us a call and let’s go find some fish.
Let’s go fishing!
