Inshore, the fishing is picking up. Some good catches of Virginia mullet, lots of small croaker, some nice speckled trout, gray trout, a few flounder and red and black drum. On the piers, people are catching Virginia mullet, croaker, bluefish and a few small flounder. In the surf, people are reporting catches of bluefish, small croaker, flounder and black drum. Offshore, people bottom fishing are catching black bass, grunts, snapper, gag and red grouper. Near shore, on top, some Spanish mackerel are starting to show up along with some bonito. Fishing tip of the week: The small menhaden have showed up and the water temperature is rising fast. So the flounder fishing should start picking up. Keep fishing and stay safe. Captain John Carty
