In the surf, people are reporting catches of blue fish, some flounder, Virginia mullet, small puppy drum and black drum. On the piers, people are reporting catches of croaker, blue fish, a few flounder and Virginia mullet. Inshore, we are catching red and black drum, speckled trout, gray trout, small flounder, black bass, croaker and Virginia mullet. There is no report for offshore fishing. This week’s fishing tip is about surf fishing. This past weekend was very windy. That causes the ocean to get very rough. These conditions will create new slews in the surf. Slews are like under water ditches. These slews are where you should fish. Low tide is the best time to see these slews. Surf fishing is a little more technical than most people think, so pick your spot and it will make a difference in your catch. Keep fishing and stay safe. Captain John Carty
