Well the fishing has been steady of the past few weeks.  We have been catching Red-fish, Black drum, Trout, and a few Flounder on our inshore fishing charters.  We have been casting jigs with gulp alive in the shrimp and minnow patters.  The strike king minnows and spinner baits have been working also.  On some of the slower days we have used shrimp and mud minnows to increase the action.  Each trip is tailored to fit your fishing ability.  On our coastal trips there has been plenty of action with the Spanish mackerel, bluefish, and lots of good size croakers.  For the Spanish and blues we have been casting spoons to breaking fish or trolling, whatever it takes to put fish in the boat. The croakers have been biting shrimp and mud minnows. You will see in the pics below a 4yr old, an expecting mother, and people into their late 60’s all catching fish. Even a few dogs have gotten in on the action.  If you want a fun day on the water with friends and family give me a call 910-264-1807. Now is the time to get in on this great spring fishing.

Jamie holding nice redfish.  We bottom fished for croakers, whiting, and spots and had a blast.  When the tide got right we went and caught a few redfish. Way to go Jamie.

Mason a true fisherman at 4yrs old.  Once we got him to keep his bait still he caught several nice reds.. He told me the biggest of his life, all 4 years.  See you on your birthday in September.

Melissa, Masons mom, holding a nice slot sized redfish. As you can tell Masons little brother is in this pic as well, He is just hiding.  Good luck with the new little one on the way.

The Rutherford family with a great catch of spanish mackerel.  At the end of the trip, we drifted for a few flounder and caught 3 small guys. The flounder fishing is picking up.

Chris and his father had a great afternoon trip landing several nice reds. This was a great father and son double.

Bill holding a 26inch redfish. What a blast.

Gwynn said she was going to read a book, just along for the ride. That’s funny, she caught more than Bill.

Becky and Baily with a small redfish.  I like the pic because of Baily, cool dog.  After Baily licked it a few times it was safely returned to the water.

Robin with a nice redfish.

Holly with a nice Black drum.  Biggest of the trip, free beer for you, or at least that was the bet.

Stan with a nice Black drum.  Great family and lots of fun.

The smile tells it all. Mrs. Anding with her first redfish ever.

Lady in Pink with a nice red.

This is something you don’t see everyday, a square rigged sailboat “Pirate Ship” cruising through Carolina Beach. Glad to see them flying the flag.

The fishing has been steady and everyone has had a great time on each trip. If you, your friends or family want a great day on the water. Give me a Call at 910-264-1807 and book your trip today!!!

The inshore fishing has remained steady over the past few weeks in Carolina Beach.  The redfish are starting to spread out in their usual summer patterns.  They are moving onto the flats and out into the main parts of the channel.  We are catching them mostly with Gulp alive shrimp and gulp minnows on a 3/8 jig-head.  I have also caught a few on top-waters and crank-baits.  Lots of fun for beginners and pros alike.  We have also been using shrimp or cut mullet when all else fails or we want a break from casting. The black drum and few flounder are being caught in with reds.

Just off the beach the action has been reel good with plenty of bluefish, a few Spanish, and a few bonito.  We are catching the blues jigging Sea Striker Jig-fish spoons or casting them into fish on the surface.  The Spanish and bonito have been mixed in there as well. We can also troll for these scrappy fighters as well.
