8-23 CarolinaExplorer fishing report: Fishing has been great, Lots of red drum, flounder, trout, spanish mackerel and sharks!!

Hello Everyone.  Inshore fishing has been great since the last report. We have been catching reds on the flats and in the creeks on lures or live baits. We have had a great early morning topwater bite on the reds and picked up a few trout and Jacks as well. When the sun gets up over the horizon we switch over to jigs or live bait to catch plenty of fish. The flounder have grown up finally and have hit soft plastics and live bait. The trout like early morning or late evening and love some soft plastic.  Summer is winding down and fall fishing is approaching fast. Now is the time to plan your fall fishing trip.

Just off the coast on the wrecks and reefs, we have had great catches of flounder, grey trout, and big reds. The spanish and blues have been biting spoons casted or trolled. In the past week we have had 3 citation flounder over 5lbs. The trout fishing is going to get better and the flounder are going to bite up until november. The big reds are just showing up and will remain steady until late fall. Give me a call and book your Fall fishing charter 910-264-1807..
