Red drum fishing is back to normal now,with all of the bad weather passed we have have several days of light winds,water is beginning to clear with the cooler night time tempertures the drum are fighting really hard.
King mackerel have been biting well just off Carolina Beach,N.C. within two miles of the inlet a 34 lb. was caught today just off Kure Beach ! Fall fishing is hear don’t miss out on the great weather we are having now give the Cape Fear Guide a call and enjoy some of the great fall fishing this area has to offer.

Tropical storm Hanna has passed the Cape Fear Region now,tides have not yet returned to normal but the red drum bite seems to be still going strong.I fished on September 9th,just off the Cape Fear River on a 1/2 day charter,with everyone onboard catching slot size red drum,and a few nice black drum mixed in.

Red Drum fishing was real exciting this morning,bite was steady with one fish on,double hook-ups,land the fish,put baits out hooked up again,and so on.I had three people on the boat that had never even seen a red fish before this morning,they are hooked on catching red fish now! Its really fun to see a young angler catching fish,and see the excitement in his expression,when he lands a big fish,and says let’s get another one.

Snow’s Cut Red Fish

I fished this morning right here in the Carolina Beach area,found flounder in the Carolina Beach Inlet,went to Snow’s Cut Bridge fished the peak of the tide, Bill Neely caught an over the slot size red drum 27 1/2″ long, fish was released to fight another day !

Speckle Trout, Flounder,Red Drum have been biting, for the last 3 weeks,today was no different,Gary Ward chartered the boat today,with a couple of his old time fishing buddies,these guys have fished in Louisiana,with some of the best guides in the Bayou, said they had caught lot’s of speckle trout, I told them to stick with me and I would show them some speckle trout,flounder,and Red Drum,sure enough we ended the day up with a Cape Fear Guide Grand Slam!

July 15, 2008 Red Fish action was exciting with the Cape Fear Guide - Capt.Mike Dennis today.fishing a small creek right off the Cape Fear River a total of 12 Red Drum were caught and released. I used the trolling motor today,and was real quite aproaching the fishing spots ,it paid off with lot’s Red Fish !

I fished today for Red Drum right here at Carolina Beach,N.C. fished the last hour of rising tide and 3 hours of falling tide, Danny Redman from Charlotte caught 4 Red Drum and I caught 2 Reds released all fish,really fun afternoon of fishing.
