I really believe that for a family outing that Carolina Beach,N.C. should be ranked as a great place to vacation if you want to introduce your family to inshore fishing.
Charter after charter I see the smiles on the family’s faces when they hook-up with a strong running red drum I know they are experiencing the best inshore fishing they have ever had !
Carolina Beach,N.C. let it be your next inshore fishing destination !

NC flounder fishing in the smaller creeks just off the Cape Fear River are producing some flounders this week.
Fishing the falling tide, anchored up close to a grass shore line with a scattered oyster shell bottom will yield flounders,my choice of bait are medium size menhaden on a Carolina rig with a circle hook. Patience pays off with the first pull on the line, give the flounder plenty of time to eat the bait I wait at least a minute or two, sometimes the fish will swim off a little then stop and finish eating the bait.
Drifting with an out going tide,is another productive alternative way to find flounders, for more information on flounder fishing give the Cape Fear Guide a call at 910-619-0928.

Live bait in the Cape Fear River is plentiful, small menhaden are in large schools, just look for the pelicans diving, these are what the reds are feeding on right now.
Flounders are biting at the mouths of the smaller creeks along the Cape Fear River, along with the speckle trout.
Now is the time to book with the Cape Fear Guide, the months of July,August are historically the months the red drum action is hot along the Cape Fear River.
