Cape Fear Guide Action

Cape Fear Guide has been catching fish the last three days on the water has really been nice, weather has been great with light winds sunny skies,I am still having to work hard finding these fish,but we are catching ! The dredge pond is still holding the small size menhaden,one cast with a 12 foot net yields all the bait for the day.Carolina rigs with small menhaden are my standard go to rig,we have also been using GOT – CHA soft plastics in 4″ curly tails lime green/Silver Flake with 1/4 oz. red jig heads.

Weather for the up coming weekend should be okay,everyone be safe,and have a great holiday weekend !

Cape Fear Guide fishing has been tough this week,due to strong winds and rain virtually every day.The dredge pond has been the place to go to catch live menhaden,bait has been easy to catch.The inshore bite for me has not been great but we are catching red drum,flounder,blue fish, having to move around a lot to locate the fish.Hopefully this weather will move out of the Cape Fear area soon,the rain was much needed,just has made fishing hard.
