Red Drum Action
Captain John Carty Affordable Fishing Charters Carolina Beach, NC 910-616-3957 The piers are reporting lots of bottom fishing action with Croaker, Spot, Ladyfish, small Bass, and a few Flounder. Inshore, the Flounder fishing is still picking up with some good catches of Red Drum. Speckled Trout are still around along with Spots, Croakers and still plenty of sharks. Offshore, King Mackerel, Dolphin, Spanish Mackerel, Blue Fish and some Sail Fish are being caught. On the ledges you can find nice Black Bass and Grouper. In the surf, people are catching Blue Fish, Croakers, a few small Spots, a few Virginia Mullet, Flounder and sharks. This week’s fishing tip is on casting. If you casting ability is not very good and you would like to improve it, it is very easy and fun to practice in your yard. Just set up a bucket or some sort of target and practice casting toward the target. Being able to cast to a strategic spot will greatly improve you catches. Keep fishing and be safe.
